Jarvis reads — and sings — an excerpt from Leonard Cohen's novel The Favourite Game, while many of the listeners play board games. Jarvis praises libraries, mentions the BFI's Flipside series and considers Ouroboros, the eternal serpent. Finally, he reads about the Roman rite of Lupercalia, in which youths whipped women with shaggy thongs to promote fertility.
