Today in 1924 the BBC first broadcast the Pips, so we hear a Kraftwerk track mimicking radio time signals. And this week Jarvis was the DJ at a children's party, so he plays musical statues with us. Jarvis recalls how he first heard Kraftwerk thanks to his mum. In archive clips, the band discuss why they began making 'electronic folk music'; how they played live, occasionally in two places at once; and how they tried to find a new, creative way to engage with computers.
